Step-By-Step – Producing Promotional Booklets

School and university prospectuses are being generated and dispatched to budding students for a September/October 2019 start, booklets and magazines with information on new product ranges are being produced regularly and, pamphlets and leaflets are printed all the time, advertising products and services. Paper advertising is still one of the most popular ways to promote your businesses and the technologies are so advanced now, they can be produced in a mere hour and be dispatched on a next day delivery.

Booklets, in particular, are produced in a specific and remarkable way so we thought we’d let you in on a step-by-step guide on how promotional booklets are made.

  • Step 1 – Ordering and Approving

You can decide what your booklets are going to look like by designing your own artwork with your business branding on. Alternatively, we can design a concept for you. As soon as a design is created and your artwork is uploaded, our automated proofing tool gets to work to assess if everything is set up correctly. If there are any issues, the computer will flag them up and create a proof for you to approve.

  • Step 2 – Checking your proof

It’s time for you, to go through your promotional booklet proof with a fine toothcomb before sending back to us. Check the branding in the artwork is where you want it to be to make the most of the advertising space provided. Once it comes back to us, our bmt specialists will go through a 30-point check to make sure everything as it should be. If not, we will contact you again and seek approval before we send to print!

  • Step 3 – The printing process

To keep costs down and to work as efficiently as possible, our workflow enables us to look at all of the printing jobs we have waiting in line and direct the artwork to the best production stream. This enables us to be as cost-effective as possible whilst ensuring the best quality print possible and fast turnaround. This can mean that the inners of your promotional booklet and the covers are printed on separate machines.

  • Step 4 – Lamination and Binding

You can choose to keep your promotional booklet a matte finish or have it laminated, then there is the decision of how you want your booklet to be bound.

There are three binding options for booklets:

Perfect Bound

This type of binding includes all the collated pages to be glued to create a strong spine.

Stapled

Our stapled booklets can be produced in a fast one-day turnaround because of our magnificent machines. At top speed, we can produce 6000 booklets in an hour.

Wirobound

For this type of binding, first the holes need to be punched by one machines and then the wires are threaded through from another.

  • Step 5 – Dispatch and delivery

Your booklets will be packaged up securely in sturdy boxes and delivered to any address of choice. We are able to deliver to all of the work sites you may have on any specific day of your choice.
